Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 14 "Legends and Dark Knights"

This week we take a look at the legends inductees at this years D23 ceremonies, we take a peak at some sneak peaks Disney is doing for Toy Story 4 and we dive into some concerns of first responders at Disney World in light of all the new expansions. We also offer a brief tribute to a few legends from both the entertainment and pop culture world before looking at who might be the next Batman. Then we sum up with a couple of great Insightful Picks of the week.

This week we tackle the ever growing problem of Internet Addiction in teens. We look at what exactly Internet Addiction is and some interesting facts about Internet Addiction. Then we explore some of the physical, mental and overall health impacts on teens that Internet Addiction has. We'll look at how other existing conditions can influence and impact or even lead to Internet Addiction. We'll explore the signs and symptoms to look for in teens who might be suffering from Internet Addiction. Then we'll look at some of the more effective treatments for handling internet addiction. Finally we'll wrap with Madison's closing remarks and shoutouts.

We open with the newest Spiderman: Far From Home trailer (with spoiler warning). Then we jump right into Disney Detective talking about the announcement of new Star Wars and Avatar movies followed by Disney's attempts to acquire Comcast's remaining interests in Hulu. In entertainment news we look at Billy Joel turning seventy and we happily announce FX picking up one of our favorite shows "What We Do in the Shadows" for a second season and how well it's doing in the ratings. Then we finish up with a couple Insightful Picks of the week.

This week we explore the wonders, benefits and rewards of the furry, feathered and scaled members of the family folks refer to as our pets. We look at reasons why people keep pets, the benefits teens gain from their pets and the health benefits we all get from our pets. We'll also take a look at some interesting statistics on pets to better understand their impact on us and then we'll introduce you to our pets. Another great podcast!

This week we look at the 30th anniversary celebration of Disney's Hollywood Studios and take a look back at how the park has evolved in that time. We provide you our spoiler filled review of Avengers and a look at the impressively increasing compensation for our super heroic actors and actresses. We follow up on Adele and how her split from her husband is going as well as where Skylar Astin is after his divorce. We'll take a look at some legal issues that Rick Schroder is going through before our touching and emotional tribute to the late great Peter Mayhew then we'll finish up with our Insightful Picks of the Week.

It's Avengers Endgame Weekend and we've got some news on that, a discussion on some harsh criticism towards Disney by a member of the family and disappointing restrictions for Galaxy's edge. Our Entertainment news takes a look at details released on the next James Bond film as well as some albums from artists we haven't heard from for a while. We finish up with a twist to our Insightful Picks of the week to wrap another great podcast.

Insights Into Teens: Episode 11 "Fears and Phobias"

Madison and Joe tackle the sensitive subject of fears. We discuss what fear is versus phobia, what the typical symptoms of each area, how such things are useful and we discuss statistics about fears and phobias and find out they aren't nearly as uncommon as you might think. We learn that fear is a healthy natural defensive mechanism of the body and that phobias aren't irrational fears but an over-reaction by a part of the brain that can be overcome with the proper training. We also discuss some commonly effective methods of overcoming your fears and phobias.

Insights Into Entertainment: Episode 10 "Recaps and Recycling"

Our tenth consecutive podcast offers some Disney Park's information and a recap of the key things from Star Wars Celebration in our Disney Detective segment. Then we talk about a few high profile relationship breakups in the entertainment industry, a brief look at a one night revival of a couple of popular 70's sitcoms and a recap of this past weekend comic book convention. As always we finish up with our Insightful Picks of the Week, with a tie in this week to our comic-con activities.

Madison and Joe take a break from some of the heart hitting topics to mark their 10th episode with a little fun an levity. Here the audience has a chance to get to know Madison a bit more as she's asked a series of questions ranging from her favorite movies to what historical figures she'd most like to have a dinner party with. We run through questions in the "About me", "Pick List", "Time and Space" and "Friends and Family" categories for a fast paced but in depth look at who Madison is and some of the things that make her tick.
